Khizr

Khizr

Khizr’s father was the king. At a very young age Khizr was in search of the truth, wisdom and philosophy within God. He was known to be the wisest man in his city.

Khizr’s father wanted his son to take over the thrown but Khizr did not agree and said “I don’t want to be the ruler. I want to be the ruler of all hearts and minds. I choose wisdom and knowledge and in search of higher goodness.”

Khizr’s ultimate wish was to be one of Gods worthy servants and lead people towards his path.

Khizr and Zilgharnin

Khizr’s wish came true and God choose him to lead and set him on a path to Zilgharnin and his people.

Zilgharnin was a wise and fair man of his time. He asked God to give him power to lead a large nation and for people’s acceptance of their leader. People acknowledged Zilgharnin’s fairness in all and came to trust and accept him as their leader. Zilgharnin took many cities from east to west and could envision many lands under his feet.

After Khizr saw Zilgharnin and told him of his Godly mission, Zilgharnin held him with high respect and said “there is nothing better than this. We are both wise and have our own responsibilities. You are to teach people wisdom and knowledge and I will run their worldly needs.”

Zilgharnin travelled to many cities and visited all the leaders and they became obedient either with peace or war and Zilgharnin would make their lives better than it was before.

He was a man of science and considered the pros and cons of every situation he set out to do. He got people interested in building homes, water wells, redirecting rivers and streams by building dams, agriculture flourished and in export and import of goods. At the same time Khizr taught people how to be fair, understanding and respect for all and how to be closer to God.

Once Zilgharnin traveled to the farthest point of the world at that time until he reached the mountain go Ghauf and heard people complaining about Yaujooj and Majooj who was a violent clan with no acceptance of rules or regulations. They would travel down a trail between the mountains and create havoc, riots and rob people and scurry back up the mountain.

With the help of the people Zilgharnin build a wall between the two mountains and cut off Yaujooj and Majooj from entering the city. This wall lasted over hundred years.

Khizr also travelled with Zilgharnin on land and sea and helped many people in need of guidance towards God as well as their day to day needs. Khizr saw how they struggled with the rough dry land and the lack of water. He spoke to God and asked. “I wish I could live forever so that one day I could witness people’s happiness in a struggle free land.”

Pure Darkness and Fountain of Youth

When Zilgharnin reached a ripe old age he thought about leaving this world. One day he called upon his wise men and men of science and asked “is there a way to escape death? Is there a way to be able to live forever?”

His men replied “we have read in Adam and Eve’s book that there is a fountain of youth but it is hidden away from people’s eyes and no one knows about its existence.”

Zilgharnin said “and it must be so. God works through wisdom. He created water, soil, rocks, vegetation, humans and animals and each has its own benefit. So it’s no surprise for a fountain of youth to exist but be hidden at the same time. Because we want to continue bringing goodness to people the fountain will be beneficial to find.”

Khizr said “Gods law is if you search for something long enough you will find it.”

Zilgharnin said “if wanting was the key than Namrood and Pharaoh also wanted to find the fountain of youth.”

Khizr said “we are speaking of the wise ones not the greedy. If man wanted to climb a wall like an ant he probably never succeed but a wise man is capable of flying like the birds. All human creations are through inspiration and evidence of that is visible everywhere.”

Zilgharnin said “it’s still unclear, if the seeker is the achiever than many want to be me and have my life but this cannot be so.”

Khizr said “once again we are speaking about the wise not the greedy. It could be that no one is more capable of Zilgharnin. The greedy will embark on a quest without faith and uncertainty and those who understand many things are not interested in pursuing and achieving. And since everyone’s destination is to one day leave this world than being Zilgharnin is not important to them anymore. Being a good human being is more important. Now, getting back to the fountain of youth, it is not a simple matter and until God wills it, it will not be found.”

Zilgharnin said “your words carry wisdom and understanding but I still need to know where to look for such fountain.”

Khizr said “inevitably, there is a curtain blocking it from view. I believe the fountain to be in a dark a pitch black place.”

And so Zilgharnin invited from east to west the wise, the knowledgeable, the inventors and the good. He said “in the journey towards darkness people are needed who can bring benefit to others, so once we reach our destination those who can help people and continue building societies should drink the water.”

Than Zilgharnin instructed the caravan leaders to begin and together travelled towards the darkened land.

The caravan was geared for a long journey and they left signs in the darkness and each day they split up and each group travelled far away and at night met back together to discuss what they saw.

It was a long, tiresome and difficult journey and in the end God wanted Khizr alone to reach the fountain of youth. When Khizr was on his exploration he reached the fountain and drank from it and at once tasted its miracle. He shared his discovery with the rest of the travelers and they quickly returned to where he had discovered the fountain but it could not be seen. They searched everywhere and found other streams and water ways but the fountain of youth was blocked from their eyes once more.

After a long while those people whose faith was not strong disputed Khizr and those who were Godly and wise said “it’s once again hidden and only Khizr possesses eternal life.”

Slowly the food and gear supply was diminishing and Zilgharnin announced their return and said “we came to find eternal life not to die from starvation. We must return and gather more food and supply for our exploration.” They left a sign where they left off and returned.

They say while traveling in the darkness glowing rocks came into view and it frightened the horses. When asked, Khizr said “these are rocks of regret. You will regret if you take one and you will also regret not taking one.”

One said “since the outcome is the same why bother hauling it with us.”

Another said “it’s better to have and regret than not to have any.” so they took some rocks.

After a while they came out of the darkness into light and they realized the stones to be valuable jewels. They asked Khizr about what he said. Khizr replied “these rocks have beauty but cannot feed, clothes, or cure any ailment. Their only purpose is to make people regret why they don’t have any and others to wish they had more.”

They all returned to their homes and Zilgharnin continued his work as the king and soon after his life came to an end. Eternal life was not bestowed upon him and wisdom, understanding and eternal life was given to Khizr by God.

So it is said that Khizr will rush to those gone astray to show them the path back to God.
